John asked the old man,"Excuse me, Sir. What is the time? The old man just looked at his watch but did not say anything. Then, John asked again,"Excuse me, Sir. Can you please tell me the time." The old man once again glanced at his watch but did not say anything. So John asked again,"Excuse me..." But before he could finish his words the old man intercepted, "Why do you keep on asking about the time? You see, I know you are interested to this young lady next to me. And I don't want a son-in-law who can't afford a simple watch!"
